How to Reset 2022 Honda CR-V Tire Pressure Light

HONDA CRV TPMS DESCRIPTION

2022 Honda CR-V tire pressure monitors detect a change in tire conditions and overall dimensions due to a decrease in pressure. The tire pressure monitoring system is activated automatically each time the engine is started. This is a safety feature of the vehicle. Honda TPMS on this vehicle doesn’t measure the pressure in each tire directly.  Instead, it monitors and compares the rolling radius and rotational characteristics of each wheel and tire while you’re driving to figure out if one or more tires are significantly under-inflated. (Honda uses its ABS sensors, to learn more about how this works, read this article.) If the system does determine that a tire is low on air, the low tire pressure/tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) will illuminate on the driver’s dashboard. WHEN TO PERFORM HONDA TPMS RESET

–> After adjusting tire pressure.

–> After tire rotations. (Cordless Impact Wrench)

–> After tire replacement.

(WARNING: When a tire of a different specification is installed, the TPMS will not function correctly. ) –> If a new wheel is installed/replaced, be sure to swap the TPMS sensor from the old wheel to the new wheel.

HONDA TPMS WARNINGS AND TIPS

–>This tire pressure monitoring system has a way to detect if there is a problem with the TPMS itself. If the TPMS warning lamp blinks for about a minute and then stays on, there is a problem with the TPMS system or the spare tire is installed on the vehicle. (Best Cordless Tire Inflators)

–>Honda recommends using the OEM brand tire and wheels when replacements are necessary. This will prevent TPMS system issues.  –>If the vehicle battery dies, after jumping or replacing the battery, the TPMS system warning will come on, after driving a short distance the TPMS system warning indicator will go off.
