things to know about 2017 mercedes tire pressure monitoring sysytem

If the low tire pressure indicator lamp lights up, you should stop and check your tires as soon as possible. Driving on a significantly underinflated tire can overheat the tire and lead to tire failure. Underinflation also increases fuel consumption and reduces tire tread life. It may also affect the vehicle’s handling and braking ability. Please note that the TPMS is not a substitute for proper tire maintenance, and it is the driver’s responsibility to maintain correct tire pressure, even if underinflation has not reached the level to trigger illumination of the TPMS low tire pressure indicator lamp. If you see the low tire pressure indicator light, stop and check your tires right away, inflating them to the proper pressure. (Cordless tire inflator on amazon)

2017 Mercedes E-class has a TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) Malfunction indicator to indicate when the TPMS is not working correctly. The TPMS light on the dash represents both, the vehicle’s TPMS as well as the TPMS malfunction indicator. When the tire pressure monitoring system detects a malfunction, the TPMS light will flash for 60 seconds and then stay on. Every time you start the vehicle, this will happen if there is a TPMS malfunction. The likely causes are, incompatible TPMS sensors have been installed, the battery in the TPMS sensor is low or dead or non-OEM tires/wheels have been installed and the TPMS is not compatible with the OEM tire pressure monitoring system.
